Part 3: The Destination
"The Overgrown Tower" 🧹💐✨🌙🥀

Lucy leapt back onto her willow broom with Sampson, cushioned by the sweet breeze carrying them across the valley below.

𝘔𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘢'𝘴 peak was even higher than she’d imagined, perfectly precarious, as if it was held up only by the very wind that guided her broom.

And 𝘊𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘢 lay waiting, perched at the very top.

Witches from across the realm swirled through clouds of spirit smoke, gathering for Lucy’s arrival.

Through the overbloom, at the top of the timeworn tower, Lucy could see the wandering eye of the stained glass 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘸.

She had heard tales of this 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘸; that it would shift its intricate panes as it pleased, to allow for incoming witches to pass through.

And the tales, it seemed, were true.

Lucy watched curiously, as witch after witch flew into the tower, the patterns on the stained glass eye shifting seamlessly to allow their passage.

One witch, stood apart from the rest. Her hair swirled like the black roots of an olden willow, an ashen cat sat upon her willow broom, and a bouquet of flowers sat gracefully atop her head.

Lucy knew who this was.

This, was Serafina.
Sister to all witches, mother to all ravens, and blessed by time herself; Serafina, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉.

I will be revealing Serafina's cat's name soon too (I am just having trouble deciding between all of the wonderful names that were suggested 😭 thank you!!)

(Oh also Serafina may or may not get her namesake from The Golden Compass 🤫)
