At Maricopa Community Colleges, we’re committed to making higher education affordable, accessible, and within reach for Valley residents.

Since taking office in January 2020, Dr. Steven R. Gonzales has helped shape the future of Maricopa Community Colleges and the state of Arizona through visionary leadership, a commitment to student success, and an unwavering belief in the power of higher education.

As Dr. Gonzales prepares for the next chapter in his career, we reflect on a legacy that includes expanding access for students, strengthening workforce training, and creating new opportunities for students and communities across Arizona.

“I leave with deep gratitude for your trust, your collaboration, and your unwavering belief in the mission of our colleges. While leadership changes, the values that define Maricopa: service, innovation, inclusion, and student success will continue to guide this remarkable institution. I have every confidence that the best days for Maricopa are still ahead. I want to thank you for the privilege of serving alongside you.
