Ever feel like you're sifting through endless blog articles telling you how to get your website to show in search? 🤔Well, we want to make it easy for you and recommend that you clean up the following items on your online presence to make an actual difference in your site's Google 🔎 ranking in 8 steps:
1. Do keyword research to find out exactly how many people search for what terms. We like Keywords Everywhere, it's an easy and cheap way to get keyword insights.
2. Decide on the exact spelling of your business name, down to the punctuation. Write it down and use it for the following steps.
3. Use your keyword research to pick one word for each of your pages. Write a meta title and description for each page that contain that page's keyword. Use that keyword throughout the copy of your page and make sure that your business name is written exactly the same everywhere on your site.
4. Claim your Google My Business profile and use the correct spelling of your business name. Add your business info and some pictures.
5. Claim your Yelp biz profile. We know that lots of people don't want to put their business on Yelp, but you can use the same info from your Google My Business listing and Yelp will help you take over the first page of search for your business name.
6. Create and set up a page with the same information from Google My Business and Yelp.
7. Create and set up an Instagram account with the same information as the platforms above.
8. Set up tracking through Google Search Console and familiarize yourself with this platform. Once your website's property is set up, submit your website's sitemap for indexing.
If you can master and maintain the above steps, then your site's Google impressions will increase. Make sure to monitor your analytics to gain key insights! 💻
