Expect a Miracle

I had the biggest crush ever on Bobby Sherman when I was in 7th grade. I had a "boyfriend" at school (whatever that meant at that age). He had sent me a note that said "Will you go steady with me. Yes/No Circle one". And I had circled yes.That made him my boyfriend, but other than that we were both too shy to ever really even speak to each other. Well, there was another not-so-popular boy that bribed me into "going steady" with him by telling me that he would buy all the teen magazines and cut out all the pictures of Bobby Sherman for me to plaster all over my bedroom walls and furniture. So we did and I got in much trouble for ruining the beautiful lavender canopy bedroom set that my parents had pinched pennies to provide me with. This new boyfriend walked me home from school every day, carried my books, provided me with lots of Bobby Sherman pictures AND gave me a ring!! However, early one Saturday morning, my mother stormed in my room and said I had better get that ring, meet my "boyfriend" up at the corner, and return it immediately. It was urgent! Turns out, my beloved had snuck his father''s class ring from a jewelry box and given it to me. He got in much trouble for that and we never really spoke again. Thus ended my sordid, vicarious affair with Bobby Sherman. 😆 🤣 😆 🤣 😂
