My poor baby Jemma was diagnosed with Valley Fever. She’s lost almost 40 lbs since late April 😢 we planned on breeding her for the first time in August, but her body can’t handle it, and she most likely will never be able to carry a litter to term. Valley Fever in dogs is very unpredictable and can be deadly. The vet has her on an antifungal medication and a strong dose of prednisone. We’re praying for a good outcome and the vet seems to think she’ll pull through it ok. My poor baby is absolutely miserable.

Going forward, we plan on spaying Jemma when she’s well enough to go under. I wanted to keep one of her babies so bad, but it’s just not in the cards for her. Jemma’s health is most important and we just love her so much 💜💜💜

Thankfully, none of our other dogs are sick. We’re praying it stays that way. Valley Fever is not contagious between dogs or humans thank goodness!
