On the morning of April 17th, Matt and Jeff with Tucson MDF attended the Spring SACPA meeting (Southern Arizona Cattlemen’s Protective Association).
We spent the day listening, learning, and gaining a better understanding of the real challenges our Southern Arizona ranchers are facing. These conversations matter. As conservationists, staying informed and engaged is part of the responsibility we carry.
We’re also asking hunters to educate themselves on the growing threat of the screw worm. An aggressive, flesh-eating parasite that can infect and kill wildlife, including our deer. Awareness and early action are critical in protecting our herds.
Strong wildlife and strong ranching communities go hand in hand, and it starts with awareness.

On April 2nd 4 members of the MDF met with Shad Beebe of the Rail 3 ranch.
Shad has a major water expansion project currently underway. With 12 drinker tanks installed, the floats need protective guards built.
The Tucson Chapter of MDF is on it!
With a much appreciated donation from Ky Barry of Barry Ranch supply ,we have enough metal to get to work . Stay posted. We'll be installing soon

Put some work in this weekend.
We cleaned up an old well and brought it back online. It’s now feeding a 5,000-gallon tank and eight drinkers we built, right here in Southern Arizona. Creating important water access for all wildlife, just outside of Tucson.
If you want to get involved and help make a difference on your public land, drop a comment below.
if you’d rather support the cause, come hang with us at Anchor Bar on May 30th for our first Deer-A-Palooza.

Huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi at Bass Pro Shop!
It was great meeting so many of you, talking hunting, conservation, and sharing what we’re doing for mule deer. Your support and enthusiasm mean a lot and help keep our mission moving forward.
If you missed us, stay tuned! We’ve got more events, projects, and opportunities to get involved coming soon.
Appreciate you all!

This is what it’s all about.
We had 20 volunteers come together in Arivaca and remove 7 miles of restrictive fencing, this weekend. Making a real impact for mule deer and other wildlife in the area.
After a hard day’s work, we wrapped it up the right way with a BBQ and good company.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and put in the effort. This is how we protect and improve our wildlife habitat, together.
