Card XVI: The Tower-
What was once a seemingly indestructible tower has been struck by a catastrophic bolt of lightning. In an instant, the structure has begun to collapse, while its masters fling themselves from the top-floor windows. The violent symbolism of The Tower represents upheaval, uncertainty, and revelation. It reminds us that sometimes, when faced with such sweeping change, we can only throw our hands up and surrender to the inexorable forces of entropy. But the situation is far from hopeless. If we are able to swim with this current rather than against it, we can actually take advantage of the vacuum created in the destruction, and use the opportunity to become more truly empowered than ever before. In the midst of disaster, may we all do our part, as we work to build a more beautiful world upon the ruins of the old.

Card XIII: Death

Undoubtedly the most infamous card in all of Tarot, Death represents the inevitable decay of all things. The grim symbols of the card are naturally unsettling for those who receive it in a reading! Far from being a simple prediction of physical death; it asks us to reflect on the fact that nothing is permanent, and that all existence is subject to never ending change. On a fundamental level, nature is constantly playing out the cycle of creation and destruction, and Card XIII symbolizes the part of the cycle where forms must dissolve in order for other forms to emerge. The Death card remind us that the universe is an unstoppable whirlpool of entropy, and all of existence is a swirling eddy, spiraling out magnificent creation for only a brief moment against the immense flow of time.
