Abby tested positive for Cushing’s Disease on Friday. It was an all-day test, where blood is drawn 3 or 4 times. She’s been on a specific medication, Vetyrol, for 3 days. This probably lead to the other diagnoses she’s received in the past 6 months. Cushing’s is an endocrine disorder when the dog produces too much cortisol hormone, leading to symptoms such as increased thirst, excessive panting. She started panting excessively about 3 years ago.
(It took 6 different vets since January to get a proper diagnoses)
I’m hopeful, but leary. She was diagnosed with esophageal cancer, inflammation of the esophagus, hypothyroidism, Irritable bowel disease, liver issues, she’s fine-just quirky, and IVDD. I hope most of these symptoms will lessen, except the IVDD will not be corrected.
