Today I hit *Publish* on my kdp book,
“A Lyrical Imagery Guide to Terps”
It has been edited and agonized over
Every word, every page, every poem
Like a long labor this book baby took much effort to get out!
Now I wait 72 hours for the approval
The labor, Early EARLY mornings before my kids and baby woke up
Looking at a screen, researching terpenes
Taking notes and designing
Creating poems and beautiful pages
Hoping others would agree
No a.i. but real human touch and hope
All to make *lil me* proud 🥹
when I was a kid I loved books even before I could read a word
Or knew my abcs
The pages, the images, the stories
My earliest memories is my father- reading Narnia to us
4 loud girls quiet, late at night- if we listened we got to stay up
It’s why my youngest son’s name is Caspian,
my Prince and reminder of the great love
In stories, in pages and memories pressed
It’s not just a book- it’s a dream, a hope, and a prayer
Come true
If there is such a book in you
I hope you get to write every page and share too

*discussing loss and miscarriage*
Some things time heals and some,
well they stay with you forever.
And all we can do
is hold on until new seasons come through.
This time of year is a tough one for me.
This month marks 12 years ago that I lost my son,
Ezra
1/2 way thru the pregnancy
The experience of betrayal from my ex-then a week later
Holding our small son in the palm of my hand-I was a wreck
Begging for a room and being treated less than human
To give birth-to my son-already gone
To be told maybe this was “God’s plan”
He could’ve had problems, maybe a disability- by a Dr
Who seemed unimpressed that this was my third baby
With two at home-why was I stressed?
I just clenched my teeth and said- I would love him no matter
And I did- even in death
To ask for a container-to bury him at home
To collapse at my parents in my old room and feel so alone
The next day we buried Ezra under a tree
My oldest sister made animal balloons and we threw a birthday party
Until next time-when I see you again
I’m reminded of my love to you in trees and flower blossoms
I still have the mini van I bought with our tax return
Because I thought we would have three- and needed the room
It’s lasted these 12 years and it’s seen three new babies
But I will never forget, your blue eyes and how I felt
love for you, forever
Freely and deeply
To everyone who has hoped but never had
I pray this poem for you….and please know- it’s okay to be sad
If you would like, because sometimes it feels so relieving to be able to say
- I loved someone even though they didn’t stay. I tried but couldn’t have
Due to illness, infertility or loss
please post a flower 🌸 or the name of your baby or child

I agree with Mr. Rogers so I’ve started a homeschool group that meets for FREE monthly in the Tulsa Area! All grades/levels. We are focusing on fun connective and creative activities with poetry, and nature science. 🔭 we will be meeting at local libraries, parks, and sometimes venues. A love of learning is something to foster. This opportunity is for every child come summer. Comment below if you’re interested or share a cool lesson you enjoyed from school/home!

Check out the latest Sequoyah Book Award List. This award was what I looked for in grade school and even now to ensure I was spending time reading something meaningful, and every time, they were and still are, my favorite reads.
