Have you produced a stellar essay for your first-year writing course this academic year? If you enrolled in ENGL 1004, ENGL 1033, or FS 1963 during the fall 2025 or spring 2026 semesters, you qualify to submit an essay or research paper you wrote for that course and possibly win a cash prize!

Help us recognize excellence in student academic writing by submitting an example of your strongest, most engaging work from your class. Simply email the program director, Dr. Rideout, at the address below and include the following information:

(In the email)
-Your full name
-Your TU student ID # (7 digits)
-A cell phone # where we can reach you
-Your instructor’s name, course/section number, and semester (FA25 or SP26)

(Attached to the email—please use the attach feature. Do not send a link)

-An anonymized copy of your paper in Word format with your TU student ID # on all pages.

The deadline for entries is 15 April 2026, so please submit today. Thanks for your input and participation!
