Today our Records Manager, Lydia, would like to highlight the Smith County Historical Society. Here's what she would like to share about this worthy cause, "I chose the Smith County Historical Society because preserving history means preserving people’s stories. As someone who works with records and is working toward a future in historical records, I’ve seen how meaningful those stories can be and how they help us understand who we used to be and how that has shaped who we are today. It's time to highlight another local organization for ! Christina Davis is one of our shareholder attorneys. She has chosen the Smith County Bar Foundation. Here's what she has to say about this worthy organization. . The Smith County Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Smith County legal profession, which provides legal resources and education to the community. Supporting the Smith County Bar Foundation provides funding for many community outreach projects, including:

People's Law School -a free event, open to the public, that provides information on a variety of legal topics and issues in English and Spanish;
Scholarships for high school or returning to school students, pursuing degrees in law enforcement or legal studies;
Children and Courts opportunities - most visits to the courthouse are stressful times. The SCBF works to make the environment friendlier for kids through the provision of books, crayons, etc., as well as supporting other programs that contribute to children's wellbeing, such as a Federal Courthouse tour and 4th grade mock trials at the Smith County Courthouse;
Mock Trial competition for high schools in the Region 7 education district;
Constitution Day programs that educate on and bring awareness to the incredible document that is the US Constitution;
Law Day - a celebration of the rule of law and our area legal professionals;

It’s almost time for ! Our team members have each chosen a local organization that is especially meaningful to them to highlight. Today we’re sharing from Jennifer, our new client coordinator. Jennifer says “I chose Pets Fur People because of my deep compassion for animals and their mission to care for and find a loving home for every animal.”
