✨Auction Spotlight- Ceramic Loose Parts Chess Set ✨

“Look at this square I made!” - Evelyn, Pre K B 

Pre K B artists rolled, molded, and smashed clay during studio! Using a variety of tools and their hands, they rolled out the clay into thin sheets and cut shapes with cookie cutters and jar lids, experimenting with how much force they needed to cut the clay. After being fired, Pre K artists swiped light blue and dark blue glaze across the clay pieces. After being fired again to achieve the shiny and smooth texture, the squares were assembled into the checkerboard pattern and loose parts were added to the clay circles to create the chess pieces. 

The final piece measures 18.5 in x 18.5 in and includes a full set of chess pieces and a full set of checkers pieces.
