Food therapy has always been one of my passions.

I dropped off my excitement for food between all of my pregnancy aversions and early postpartum just eating for survival.

I am so excited to be getting my food passion and creativity back this summer!

One of my favorite parts of learning Chinese herbs was learning about the herbs that are already part of a typical diet. Watermelon 🍉 is one of them!

It helps to clear what we call summer heat. It’s perfect for the really hot days and especially for those that naturally run hot and may feel yourself even more sensitive to the heat of summer.

This was actually one of the few first trimester foods that made me feel good last summer. I have a memory of sitting with another pregnant friend just eating large hunks with a fork right out of the rind 🤣

So if you’re pregnant and struggling with the heat, get yourself a watermelon and eat it with your legs propped up on your couch.

To me, food is truly medicine 💗
