If you have gaps in your crown molding corners, you are seeing the result of a rushed installation.
Wood naturally expands and contracts with the seasons. When contractors use standard flat cuts to save time, the wood eventually shrinks and pulls apart. That leaves a dark shadow in the corner of your ceiling.
There is a permanent way to fix this. It is a traditional carpentry method called coping. Instead of flat angles, we hand-cut the molding so the pieces actually overlap and interlock. It takes more time and skill, but it hides any natural wood movement. The corners stay tight.
