I am the owner of Harold's Haunt, the (first ever?) They-Bar in Pittsburgh/Millvale. I'm also the owner of Q***r Witches of Maude's Paperwing Gallery which is a q***r, witchy gift shop!

We are raising funds to help us grow and we need your help! 🙏💜 Buying a bar was never in my life plans but I came across a need in the community and decided it was important to try and fill it. Those of you who have known me for a long time, you know that 'bar owner' was probably the last place you'd thought I'd be and also... you probably aren't actually that surprised. 😅

I have always been in this for the COMMUNITY. 🌈 Supporting my fellow q***rs find a place where they can be who they are and feel safe, supported, and exited about emotional healing and growth - that's what gives me joy and why I opened my little witch shop three years ago.

Opening a bar has been a surprising extension of that path - I now have a place where the q***r community can really come together and meet one another in a cozy and safe environment. By designating it a THEY-BAR, we hold space for those in the q***r community who have often been unable to find space at typical gay or le***an bars. And by just being our silly little selves, we have created a cozy place where people feel welcome and relaxed.

In the past year, my family and I have poured our entire selves into Harold's Haunt. I knew running a bar, let alone a second business, would be hard, but damn I didn't even know I was capable of doing all of the work I've had to do in the last year. It has been honestly overwhelming, but the thing that keeps me going is the community. People come in and say that they feel seen and safe. People tell me how excited and grateful they are that Harold's and Maude's exist. The amount of people whose lives have been positively affected means to me that I cannot give up. I HAVE to keep this thing going, even if it eats me alive. 😅🙃😂

Right now we are running an investment campaign through Honeycomb Credit. The funds that we are raising are for decor and admin things and also, priority number one- getting us a full time manager for the bar.

If you've been to one of our events at Harold's, you know we have some pretty cool ideas. Our Prom was a freaking blast. The funeral party we just had was bananas. But all of the events right now are done last minute, zero budget, frantic planning --- as a group of theater q***rs, we can pull off some killer things with half a plan and a day of planning.

But what if we had time to ....actually plan these events? What if we had someone who was able to take care of logistics of setting up and tearing down? What if we had someone who took care of the ordering and stocking? IMAGINE HOW AMAZING THE EVENTS WOULD BE THEN.

We have some absolutely fantastic things dreamed up, but we need your help to make them into a reality. I admit it feels absolutely gross to be a business owner talking about money and asking for financial help but for the sake of the dreams we have, I'm doing it anyway. 🙏
