This week’s issue features a powerful in-depth article by on Tom Miller, his murals, and the annual celebration I launched six years ago in his honor. What began as a love letter to a Baltimore visionary has grown into a citywide tradition.

Tom’s first public mural in Baltimore — “However Far the Stream Flows, It Never Forgets Its Source” — is fading and crumbling. We are in the early stages of advocating for its preservation, and we need the community behind us.

Deep gratitude to the Miller family, collectors, institutions, and every supporter who has poured into this work over the years. Because of you, Tom Miller Week was voted Best Baltimore Tradition of 2025 by Baltimore Magazine and we also received a Mayoral Salute from in 2025.

Special thank you to Project Manager , , Mrs. Beverly Carter, , members of the Oliver community, and our longtime supporters who continue to help shape what Tom Miller Week is today.

Baltimore’s cultural memory is worth protecting and it starts with us.

Let’s restore the source!
