It's hard to imagine but one in 12 children in the U.S. will experience the death of a parent or sibling by age 18. The Community Hospice, in partnership with the Eluna Network, will host its annual Camp Erin weekend bereavement camp again this September to help children and teens who have lost a parent, grandparent, or another significant person in their lives.

We are currently accepting applications for Camp Erin 2026, set for Friday - Sunday, Sept. 18-20; against the beautiful backdrop of the Adirondacks. The overnight camp offers youths a safe environment where they can enjoy fun camp activities while learning essential coping skills to deal with loss. Camp Erin is FREE of charge and open to children and teens ages 6-17 who have experienced the death of a loved one. Facilitated by Hospice grief counselors, the camp also enables kids to connect with others their age who are grieving so they know they are not alone.

Hospice is also seeking volunteers for Camp Erin. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, in good health, enjoy working with children and being outdoors, and be available for the entire camp weekend.
