Here's a note from her foster "Priscilla is so interesting! She’s an easy keeper, doesn’t meow much and has a sweet little voice. She likes sitting next to you but not on your lap. She tolerates being picked up briefly. She loves the cat dancer. Chubby as she is, she’s agile and moves around easily. She’s a good eater but curiously, doesn’t come around at the sound of cans opening. She explores at night, spends a little time on the bed, but still loves dark places best—day or night."

Sweet Tippy has been adopted! After just two weeks with her foster, Tippy has a new home. She's found her new beginnings with a previous GOCR adopter who is ready to give another senior kitty a place to call home.
Congrats Tippy! And a big thank you to her foster, John.

Today is National Pet Fire Safety Day, a reminder that our feline friends depend on us to keep them safe—not just every day, but during emergencies too.
Here are a few simple ways to help protect your cats in the event of a fire:
🏠 Keep carriers easily accessible and labeled for each cat
🚪 Place pet alert stickers on doors or windows so first responders know pets are inside
🔋 Test smoke alarms regularly and replace batteries as needed
📋 Have an emergency evacuation plan that includes all of your pets
💾 Keep photos and medical records handy in case you become separated
Many rescue cats have already overcome challenges in their lives. Taking a few minutes to prepare for an emergency can make all the difference in keeping them safe and with the families who love them.
❤️ Today, we encourage everyone to check their smoke detectors, review their emergency plans, and give their cats an extra cuddle.
