Open Hikes - All are welcome
05/12/2021
Greetings from Michael!
I am emerging from my self-imposed public health emergency quarantine to announce the first official Mindful Hike event of 2021...
If you are available, save the date(s) June 5th and 6th. I am organizing a meditation retreat weekend in the Woodchute Mountain Wilderness near Jerome (approximately 90 mins from Phoenix).
My retreat concept is very simple, I will be camping there and meditating all weekend...and the entire Mindful Hike family is welcome to come join me for as much or as little of the retreat as you like. There will be seated/walking meditation going on all day Saturday and Sunday (ending around 1pm Sun). Feel free to come camp with us or to just pop in for a few hours to meditate and commune with nature.
The trailhead will be easy to get to by car and the campsite location will be a very short hike (1/2 mile) from the trailhead parking lot. If you are interested in attending, please comment on this post and I will seek you out to share more information. Alternatively, send me an email at [email protected]

Sunset Vista Trail at Picacho Peak
Thursday April 8th, 8 AM at Trail Head
Details
Thursday April 8th , 8 am at Trailhead.
Sunset Vista Trail is a 5.4 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Picacho, Arizona that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, nature trips, and bird watching. Very unique trail - a lot of fun! Wild Flowers are blooming in at Picacho Peak. The cables are super sturdy, but gloves are definitely very helpful. Bring gloves. Amazing views from the top !
Parts of Hike has wire cables to hold on too, makes this hike a gem special.
WHAT TO BRING: WATER (3 liters any time of the year) gloves, hats and sunscreen in the summers and long sleeves/jacket during the cooler months. Good Hiking Shoes. Snacks . I recommend eating a good breakfast before every hike. Stretch. Hydrate the night before , get plenty of sleep.
It will be at least a 4 hour hike.
Spring Flowers Should be at full bloom.
With Covid Restrictions, No Carpooling at this time. Meet you at the trail. My phone number is below, just in case you are running late.
