Homeschooling moms, stop going solo...

Yesterday we had a new family DM us after choosing curriculum, then immediately hitting the hard part: “Who do we meet with?”

So we’re trying a “Neighborhood Learning Map” the simple way—your ZIP (or nearest town) + your grade range. From there, CTR Homeschooling organizes meetups around real constraints:
- drive time
- co-op availability
- shared curriculum interests

And for the first month, newcomers get paired with one buddy family (same grade band, similar schedule if we can match it).

If you’ve been wondering whether there’s a network near you, we’re building it with the community—by the community.

Join our community and subscribe to our newsletter for the map form—visit ctrhomeschooling.com.

Stop guessing—use a ‘Misconception Log’ to assess learning without test pressure.

When your child misses a problem, write:
- What they answered (or what they said)
- What they *thought* was going on (their reason)
- The misconception you suspect
- A quick note on what worked when you reteach

We recommend reviewing the log every 2–3 weeks. Patterns jump out fast—especially the ones you can’t see during a single lesson. Then you can adjust instruction with confidence (not “maybe they just need more practice”).

Want our free misconception log template? Join the CTR Homeschooling community and grab it at ctrhomeschooling.com.

I get it.

Connecting with other homeschooling families can be daunting 🤔.

But once you do, the support and shared experiences are invaluable!
