Thank you to everyone who has signed up for the 21 for 21 challenge starting May 1st. We are grateful that you continue to honor the 21 and want to share more about how your support will bring real change.

Lives Robbed Stands Together is the sister organization of our politically focused organization, Lives Robbed Stands Up. Stands Together is how we give back and it’s rooted in our daughters’ kindness and love. You can see on our website that the mission of Stands Together is to honor our daughters’ lives and legacies by raising public awareness and putting a face to the victims of the gun violence epidemic. We were able to do that last year with our photo exhibit “77 Minutes in Their Shoes”.

We strongly believe in supporting our teachers. This will be our third year presenting the Mr Arnulfo “Arnie” Reyes Award to a teacher who goes above and beyond in the classroom and in their community. At the start of each school year, we not only share supply lists for Uvalde teachers, we also buy what we can to make sure every list is cleared.

We know the importance of supporting our Uvalde community. During the holidays, we donate meals for Thanksgiving and gifts to children in need at Christmas. We work with and donate to the other non-profits started by families of the 21 to make sure their loved ones and their legacies are never forgotten.

But we hope to do more! And your donations make that possible.

Another shooting that endangered and traumatized students, this time at a high school hockey game in Rhode Island. Two people were killed and at least three others were injured.

No student should ever be forced to run for their life. But this happens far too often.

Our hearts are with the community as we await more information.

Jackie Cazares was just 9 years old when she was killed while at elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, on May 24, 2022.

Since then, her family has left the lights on: pink and purple string lights that line the ceiling in her bedroom. “She loved the lights,” her mom, Gloria recalls in All the Empty Rooms while showing journalist and photographer Jackie’s room.

The short documentary follows an emotional, multi-year journey documenting the empty bedrooms of children lost to school shootings, laying bare the realities of forgotten families grappling with grief and loss.
