Meeting Recap🗓️✔️

Thank you to everyone who joined us! This month we heard from Carol McCoy of Coastal Wildlife Club, who shared her contagious passion for sea turtle monitoring and conservation. The club monitors nesting beaches from South Casperson to Don Pedro State Park and supports patrols, strandings, tagging, and rehabilitation efforts. 🐢

One visual that stood out to us was a young sea turtle found with 898 pieces of plastic inside- a reminder of how plastic pollution impacts marine life and why our work through underwater cleanups matters so much.

We hope to see you at the next meeting- every third Wednesday of the month!🌊

Words cannot express the debt of gratitude we owe this man. He has been a passionate defender of our environment. Tirelessly volunteering his time, experience, money and effort to protecting the environment and our waterways. He is a friend, master diver, advocate, and teacher. Federico has been a regular volunteer and leader with local groups like Suncoast Reef Rovers, Suncoast Aquaventures, Sarasota Bay Watch and many many more. He will be inc missed! He will be leaving the gulf coast to head out west for other opportunities with his family and we will sorely miss him!
