Faith Over Shame: Andy Pettitte & Redemption ⚾✝️

In Game 3 of the 2009 World Series, Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte wasn’t just chasing another title—he was seeking redemption. Two years earlier, he admitted to using HGH to recover from injury. Though it wasn’t against MLB rules then, his conviction led him to stop, confess, and lean deeper into his faith.

Pettitte, known for his walk with Christ, clung to 1 Peter 4:11—striving to live above reproach and give God glory through his actions. Despite boos and criticism, he delivered on the mound, helping secure the Yankees’ 27th title and earning his 5th ring.

“I thought I’d ruined everything,” Pettitte said. “But God knows my heart… and honored me for how I handled it.”
