Kaweah Health hosted our first Fresh Starts for Diamond Hearts event, bringing together women who have undergone open heart surgery at Kaweah Health to celebrate strength, resilience, and recovery.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women, yet many symptoms are overlooked or dismissed. Events like this are a reminder that listening to your body, seeking care early, and prioritizing your heart health is important. “Heart disease in women can look very different and timely care can make all the difference,” said cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Shelly Bansal. “The women today are proof that modern heart care can be life-changing.”
