As the sun dipped below the horizon in the picturesque town of St. George, Utah, little did the residents know that an extraordinary adventure was about to unfold. The day had been unusually windy, the kind of day when hats take flight and umbrellas stand no chance. But as night fell, the winds didn't just carry dust and leaves; they brought with them an army of tumbleweeds, embarking on a silent conquest.

I, a recent transplant to this charming desert oasis, was nestled comfortably in my new condo, blissfully unaware of the chaos brewing outside. The night passed with the howling winds serenading the town, a lullaby for some, a harbinger for others.
Come morning, the scene that greeted me was nothing short of cinematic. My patio, once a quaint space for morning coffees and evening reads, had transformed into a battleground, with tumbleweeds piled high like ancient ruins. The sight was both awe-inspiring and slightly terrifying. It was as if the tumbleweeds had chosen our little community for their annual gathering, turning patios and yards into their playgrounds.

But the story doesn't end here. In the days that followed, a different kind of hero emerged. The groundskeepers, our unsung warriors, armed with nothing but determination and garden tools, took to the fields. It was a sight to behold - a strategic operation to reclaim our beloved community from the clutches of the tumbleweed army.
They rounded up the invaders with precision, corralling them into a massive pile that seemed to touch the sky. And then, just like that, they were gone, trucked off to a mysterious destination, perhaps a tumbleweed retirement community where they could live out their days in peace.

This event, now dubbed "The Great Tumbleweed Invasion of St. George," has become a tale of resilience, community, and the unexpected adventures that life throws our way. It's a reminder that sometimes, it's the smallest things that bring us together, and the most mundane days that turn into the stories we tell for years to come.

So here's to the tumbleweeds, the groundskeepers, and the adventures that await us St. George. May we always face them with the same humor and camaraderie that this whirlwind adventure has brought to our community.

I’ve been remiss and not been keeping all my Waco friends in the loop! At the end of February, I sold my Waco home and moved to St. George, UT, to be closer to family. We’re renting a furnished condo right now and are currently under contract to buy a new home here… scheduled closing date of Mar 27! I’ll try harder to post more Facebook updates on what’s happening!

Since the advent of digital cameras and cell phones, everybody can be a photographer, and everybody is. We take photographs that have an enchanting ability to freeze time, preserve memories, and reveal emotions that transcend words. We use those photos to express who we are and what is important to us. We shoot during working hours, during meetings, enjoying hobbies, eating delicious foods, exploring new regions, and recognizing funny experiences.

We reached out to our friends on World Photo Day holiday on Aug 19th and asked if anyone wanted to share a favorite photo or two. We were excited to receive some really fun photos of cherished moments that warmed our hearts as we celebrated the wonders of life and the beauty of these precious connections.

[Little Girl with Beagle] Here’s a photo that Trouble would love to share with you!

Back in the day, Alex, my delightful 15-month-old granddaughter, and one of my playful beagles, Willbee, were being introduced for the first time. In this captivating moment frozen in time, you'll find Alex holding a sippy cup, her curious eyes beaming with innocence and wonder at the animal before her.

With his inquisitive nose pressed against the sippy cup, Willbee engaged in a captivating stare-down, where affectionate glances are exchanged, and a tender connection blossoms.

Despite Willbee's usual charm in getting what he desires, it was Alex who triumphed in this gentle contest of wills. With the wisdom of her 15 months of life, she confidently conveyed her desires, leaving us all astonished by her adorable determination.

This photograph captures the essence of companionship, the magic of childhood, and the joy of shared moments between two cherished beings. It's a testament to the profound bond that forms between children and their furry friends, where communication transcends words, and love knows no bounds.

[Baseball Kids] And here’s a couple of photos from Mandi Merritt (at Waco Title). “Photography is one of my favorite things! I take sports photos for our little league team and my son’s Select Team. Here are some of my photos! I am a baseball mom through and through and me taking photos gives other parents a chance to focus more on the game in front of them, have memories of their favorite moments (and some they may have missed), and to tell the story of the game for those that cannot attend.”

[Leaf Blowing Kid] And Erica Knapp from Tejas Title has a photo to share. “Please see one of my favorite memorable for me pictures. This picture was taken in the summer of 2021 ~ that little guy there (my son Lucas) is 5 years old. What you need to know is that we were all home because he had asymptomatic Covid-19 (I didn’t and neither did anyone else in the household)….this picture defines how much fun he was having and how little fun I was having lol… I wanted to scream and pull my hair out, but instead we laughed and leaf blew each other .”
