Paul here. I'm sharing some sad news and I'm borrowing the post from a great local game store to do it because they said it better than I could. Today the world lost a great gamer. My friend Scott Kunian passed away. Many folks who come to CaptainCon knew Scott, but even if you didn't I can guarantee he touched your life.

When I first moved to Massachusetts as an awkward young gaming geek in the 1990s, Scott was one of the first people I met outside of family - over a table of 2nd edition 40K. His friendly attitude was infectious and he introduced me to so many great people who kept me playing games instead of becoming a hermit or taking up some boring hobby. He was also a big influence on my decision to join the Privateer Press Pressgang where I eventually met the other organizers of CaptainCon. Without Scott and his love of gaming and making friends, that conversation of "maybe we could run a convention" probably wouldn't have happened and I wouldn't have had the chance to meet so many awesome folks.

Though the world is a little dimmer today, I have seen so many of his family and friends reaching out with memories that it brings some joy. So, please join me in honoring this good friend by making time in the coming days to get together with your fiends and play some games. We only get one life, it's never long enough, and you never know when it will end so make the time to enjoy it.

Scott, we didn't get time to hang out nearly enough and I miss you so much already, buddy.
