Kenyatta Pledges to Respect Term Limit in 2022 07/06/2020

In an interview with US-based think tank Atlantic Council on June 18, President Uhuru Kenyatta pledged to respect the two-term limit for the presidency set forth in Kenya’s Constitution.

When asked whether he’d attempt to remain in office after his five-year term ends in 2022, he replied, “if there is one thing that Kenyans are very, very clear about, [it’s our] two-term limit. There’s been no single president [who] has broken that, and I don’t intend to be the first.”
