DCAEYC will be at the Final Wednesday Walkaround on Wednesday, June 17, joining early childhood educators, directors, families, partners, and community allies at the John A. Wilson Building.

This is the final walkaround before the DC Council’s final budget vote, and there is still work to do. The Council still needs to secure the final $2 million needed to fully sustain the Pay Equity Fund and protect the progress that early childhood education professionals have fought so hard to achieve.

No advocacy experience is required. Participants will receive support, materials, and guidance before meeting with Council offices.

On Monday, June 8, DCAEYC will join DC Action, the DC Action, community partners, advocates, and policy leaders at the John A. Wilson Building for the Child Care Cafe.

Together, we will stand in support of early childhood education professionals, families, children, and the future of DC’s early learning system. This is an important opportunity to understand what is included, and what is not included, in the Chairman’s FY27 budget for early education, and to continue raising our collective voice for stable, meaningful investment in the field.

On Tuesday, June 9, DCAEYC will join DC Action, Under 3 DC, and community partners at the Wilson Building as the DC Council takes its first vote on the FY2027 budget.

We invite our members and early childhood education supporters to stand with us for DC’s children, families, and early childhood education professionals.
