Occupational Health Internship Program (OHIP)

Congrats to Jimena Rodriguez-Gamez and Santiago Fuentes who have both been accepted into the UC Berkeley Public Health, MPH Environmental Health Sciences program! Both Jimena and Santiago joined us last summer as part of the Occupational Health Internship Program (OHIP). OHIP interns learn about the field of occupational safety and health from those with most at stake: working people. Jimena and Santiago partnered with Laborers’ International Union, Local 67 and the , among others, and their achievements remind us how critical this program is to building the pipeline of leaders in occupational health & safety that we need in this moment. 🎉

This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow, January 30, 2026, is the final day to apply to the Occupational Health Internship Program (OHIP) – Summer 2026. Please note that deadline extensions may not be available.
OHIP 2026 project sites include Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Durham (NC), Minneapolis, the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Boston.
This is a wonderful opportunity to gain a unique, hands-on experience exploring Occupational Safety and Health from the perspective of those who know it best: the workers themselves. Students gain valuable skills while making a meaningful impact in communities nationwide.
