I’m excited to share that Whitney Stringer PR & Events was recently named the new communications firm of record for YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, DC - A*O
While my consultancy works with organizations across industries, since 2018 we have taken a special interest in social impact initiatives through community health focused work.
We first launched the WSPR Wellness Series with programming to elevate health and wellness plucked for often overlooked communities.
Now the work expands with this YMCA partnership. As a true household name, the Y strives to foster the spiritual, mental and physical development of individuals, families and communities; by all and for all.
What a perfect match! I’m excited to work alongside the leadership
as a thought partners across the 13 regional branches. Cheers to more community, more impact and investing in our well-being of our deserving neighbors

On Juneteenth, a day to commemorate Black freedom, the Whitney Stringer PR & Events Wellness Series and SWEAT DC have partnered to create an experience exploring the relationship between vulnerability, resilience, mental health and true freedom in the Black community.
The event will begin with a sound bowl session where Sound Healer Nazinga Thomas will produce sounds and vibrations from metal alloy bowls, a practice known for allowing deep relaxations of both sides of the brain and for stimulating stress relief. Sound healing is also known to lessen pain, improve sleep, reduce anger and improve general well-being.
Next up, Psychotherapist Tamia Barnes Tomasek will lead a round-table discussion where the conversation will explore topics like recognizing barriers to vulnerability and how vulnerability shows up in friendships, love relationships and beyond.
