🇨🇳✨ Between celebrating her 21st birthday, balancing internship life, welcoming a visit from her mom, and improving her Mandarin skills, Emma Chongo has been making the most of her time abroad at !
"My program director was right: I love China. When he first said this at orientation, I was not completely convinced. I was jet-lagging and felt overwhelmed by all the new apps and enormity of China. Yet, eight weeks in, I have gained a new perspective. China is such a special country, and I hope more foreigners prioritize visiting China. "

💪 Sports Meet
We joined international students from the College of International Education for a day of competition and community. Highlights include a 2nd-place finish in the 400m and strong performances in shot put!
Academic Travel Abroad, our parent organization, is committed to the Decarbonization Fund in partnership with Cool Effect. Cool Effect is a nonprofit focused on reducing carbon emissions through scientifically-proven, hand-selected carbon projects worldwide 🌎✨
For each trip one of our team members, travelers, or students takes, we donate to three carbon projects chosen by staff volunteers yearly. This past year, we donated $83,100 and contributed to the following projects:
• The Giving Trees - Uganda
• Sea of Change - Myanmar
• Home on the Range - Colorado
