You’re probably doing this wrong.

When installing labels or badges on stainless equipment, cutting the protective film with a blade can easily scratch the surface.

A smart trick we picked up from VMW Inc. is to score the film with copper along the template. Copper cuts the plastic film cleanly, but because copper is softer than stainless steel, it won’t scratch the metal underneath.

That same principle works on many other harder surfaces too, including steel, chrome, and nickel finishes.

Peel the film. Wipe clean. Align the template. Apply the label.

Simple shop trick. Clean install.
