We have collaborated with AmCham Bolivia to establish an advisory program to support Bolivian businesses with FDA company registration, a key requirement for exporting products to the United States.
As part of this initiative, ACDI/VOCA led an initial working session to share FDA registration process experiences, recommendations, and best practices with the Chamber’s technical. In many cases, this requirement has become a significant barrier for Bolivian companies seeking access to the U.S. market.
Dr. Luis Flores, a specialist with more than 20 years of experience promoting exports from Latin American companies to the United States, led the session and provided technical and strategic guidance to the AmCham Bolivia team.
In the coming weeks, the Chamber will organize workshops for member companies, with the objective of strengthening their capacities and facilitating their access to the U.S. market.

Creating a strong business enabling environment is a critical factor to realizing economic growth. Our programs strive to do just that, leveraging digital innovations where appropriate.
One example? Digitizing customs processes in Honduras.
Under the Transforming Market Systems (TMS) Activity in Honduras, we worked with the Customs Administration of Honduras (AAH) to simplify and digitalize administrative processes. The goal was to save time and reduce costs for all users of the system.
Together, the program and AAH jointly implemented a "Paperless Customs" initiative at five strategic customs offices (four maritime and one land) across the country, helping facilitate trade through agile and expeditious customs clearance, thereby reducing costs and increasing competitiveness.
The initiative eliminated 9 million paper documents annually, thanks to the use of electronic customs procedures, tablets, and optical readers, and created a faster, more cost-effective customs process.
Despite the program's early closure, AAH maintained its commitment to operationalizing digital solutions to support trade facilitation.
