SUSPENSION OF CAMPAIGN: Today, I made the difficult decision to suspend my campaign for Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives.

This was not a decision I made lightly. I entered this race as a third-generation Washingtonian, a mother, and a community leader who believes deeply in the future of our city. Along the way, I had the opportunity to meet residents across the District, hear your stories, and fight alongside you for the issues that matter most, from statehood to economic opportunity to safe and thriving communities.

I am incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this campaign, volunteered their time, signed petitions, and believed in this vision.

While my campaign is ending, my commitment to the District is not. I will continue to be engaged, to advocate, and to work for a stronger, more equitable DC.

This is not the end of the work; I will continue to serve District residents.

Thank you, DC.

I was raised on a union worker’s salary. My stepfather was a proud member of IBEW. That is why I know DC is a union town. And today, outside a unionized Starbucks, I saw workers proving something powerful. When people stand together, they can take on one of the biggest corporations in the world and win.

Starbucks Workers United is showing the whole country what courage looks like. Real community power. Collective power. The kind of power Congress is terrified of.

Because while DC workers fight for fair wages and dignity, Congress denies us the vote that every other American has. They make the laws that raise our cost of living. They block the protections workers need. And we have no say.

I am running for DC Delegate because if workers can take on a billion-dollar corporation and win, we can take on a broken Congress and demand the democracy we deserve.

Stand with workers. Stand with DC. Stand with our movement.

When ERAP reopened, hundreds of D.C. residents lined up in the cold for a chance to stay housed. ERAP is funded locally, but the crisis behind it is federal, decades of underinvestment in housing, and a budget system where Congress still has final say over D.C.’s decisions.

This is why I’m running for Delegate: to bring federal housing dollars home and fight for the autonomy our city deserves. No one in D.C. should have to stand in the cold to keep a roof over their head.

Join our movement. Representation matters.

This Giving Tuesday, I’m asking you to help show what a truly people powered campaign looks like.

I’m running for Delegate because Washingtonians, not insiders, lobbyists, or special interests, deserve to shape our future. Every $25 $51, or $100 contribution today builds a campaign rooted in community and accountable to the people.

Join us and be part of a historic moment; together, we are building a movement that carries D.C.’s long fight for full representation into its next chapter.

Will you step forward today and help fuel this movement? Your Giving Tuesday contribution is more than a donation; it’s a commitment to the future D.C. deserves.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to share my deep gratitude for my family, friends, and the incredible community we call home.

Here in DC, gratitude is more than a feeling; it’s a commitment. A commitment to housing justice, to safe and thriving neighborhoods, to economic opportunity, and to finally securing the full democratic rights every DC resident deserves.

I am thankful for everyone who has supported this movement, asked tough questions, shown up to meetings, volunteered, and believed in a vision for a more equitable District.

From my family to yours, I wish you a warm, peaceful, and joyful Thanksgiving. Let’s continue the work together, because our moment is now. 🧡🦃

Grateful to join the panel after the DC Battlefront screening to talk about DC Statehood and the long, uncomfortable truth: race has always shaped who gets full rights in this country, and who doesn’t.

Our fight for full representation is historic, urgent, and far from over.

Thank you to and the for sponsoring this important conversation.

Our veterans kept their promise to America; now it’s time for America to keep its promise to them. I’ll fight to make sure D.C. veterans get the same healthcare, housing, and support as veterans in every state.

Thank you to the veterans in my life. A special thank you to my sister Tiyona Leonard and her husband for their service.
