You can’t always tell what someone is managing. 💙

Some disabilities affect daily life in ways others may never notice — from health needs and appointments to work, energy, planning, transportation, and support.

For eligible people with disabilities, ABLE accounts can help save for qualified disability expenses while protecting important benefits like SSI and Medicaid.

ABLE accounts can be used for many disability-related expenses, including health care, housing, education, transportation, employment support, assistive technology, and more.

During a conversation with disability advocate and ABLE today’s National Outreach Director Mark Raymond Jr⚜️, Easterseals President and CEO Kendra Davenport addresses the controversy surrounding Section 14(c).

Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act is a federal provision that allows certain employers to pay some workers with disabilities less than the federal minimum wage — but only if the employer has a special certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division.

It’s a complex issue at the intersection of disability employment, dignity, choice, and fair wages.

Watch the conversation.
