After install a temporary shim under the saddle on this old Gibson LG-3 to test the action/feel, the owner wanted a more permanent fix. Since I didn’t have the right length blank to make fit, I did the next best thing and grabbed a long scrap of bone I had saved ( hoarder much?), glued it to the bottom of the original saddle ( which I had previously compensated for intonation) and sanded that down to size/height. It’s not perfect, but neither is the well loved guitar, so I didn’t feel too much guilt, it worked perfectly, it will eventually age/blend in color over time, and the owner is happy. Win/win.

But sometimes it’s easier just to replace a part. When we started to have issues w the volume slider on this Takamineguitar preamp, their excellent customer service got us a new preamp right away! Most excellent!! Huge thanks to them! Shane Theriot Music has had this guitar for almost 20 years and still loves it!

What does one do when one needs a pink guitar for a promotion with moe. but the promised one doesn’t arrive in time? One pivots and paints! And adds a racing stripe for pizzazz, to boot! Special thanks to Steve Young for the supplies and the help and incentive!

When the switch gets crushed, sometimes you can actually fix the switch! Probably replace it ASAP just to be sure but at least Rob Derhak can use it tonight!
