I only take on a couple of projects a year now (I've been focused on building and growing my dance/fitness studio), so I was excited to do Tessa's Milestones sessions (birth through 1 year)! I had the privilege of doing her big brother Zach's Milestones sessions too, which made for a fun comparison photo... :) Tessa was alert and calm through most of our session... so sweet and wonderful to work with! And big brother Zach was such a good caretaker, and put up with lots of photos! Haha!

Although I've semi-retired from photography, I take on a few special projects each year. I've had the pleasure of knowing Laura and her family since Laura was a little girl! I photographed her for her senior portraits several years ago, and I was honored to photograph her and Nate's wedding day! There were so many thoughtful touches and memorable moments. Congratulations, Laura and Nate!

Sweet baby Zach made an early entrance into the world! He slept through most of our session, and was so cooperative... let's hope it's a sign of how he'll be as a toddler. ;) Welcome to the world, Zach!

A year ago today, I had the honor of photographing the most memorable birth I've seen (including my own kids'). One of my best friends, Stephanie, was the surrogate for another one of my close friends, Mary. It was the most emotional, joy-filled, beautiful event I've ever seen... And most of it was photographed through a sheen of tears. Especially this image, as Mary greeted her baby boy for the first time. Happy birthday, "Baby Love" Joshua. You are so loved, sweet boy!

The Hembds are like family to me, so it was extra fun to do their family portraits. I enjoyed the challenge of capturing everyone's personalities, and laughed harder than I have at any other portrait session! Thanks, Hembd clan!

You know it's going to be a fun newborn session when we're singing "Welcome to the Jungle!"
