Tonight is the Whitney City Council meeting, and I encourage every resident who cares about our community and animal welfare to attend and speak during public comment.

I have exercised my rights under the Texas Public Information Act by requesting public records. I have obtained police reports, financial records, and other City documents through the open records process. My goal has never been to create division, it has been to seek answers backed by documentation.

After reading the Mayor’s statement, I have serious concerns.

The records I requested were not fully produced, and the records I did receive continue to show that animal-related issues have not simply disappeared. Calls involving loose dogs, aggressive animals, bites, and animal welfare concerns continue to occur. Residents continue to contact our rescue because they need help.

Transparency isn’t just issuing a statement. Transparency means providing complete records, answering questions directly, and allowing the public to verify the facts.

As citizens, we should all be asking questions:
• Is the current system adequately serving Whitney residents?
• Are existing ordinances being consistently enforced?
• Are public funds being used in the manner residents expect?
• What improvements are still needed to protect both people and animals?

These are fair questions. They deserve complete answers.

This isn’t about politics or personalities. It’s about accountability, responsible government, and ensuring our community has effective animal welfare services.

If you want your voice heard, please attend tonight’s City Council meeting at 6pm Lake Whitney Public Library. Respectfully ask questions. Request answers. Hold your elected officials accountable. Public participation is how local government becomes stronger.

I will continue advocating for transparency, for the residents of Whitney, and for the animals that cannot speak for themselves.

💙 Today was one of those days that reminds us just how blessed we are.

The wonderful ladies from the Lake Whitney Needle Arts Club stopped by with a very special delivery. They handmade more beds for our rescue animals, giving our dogs and cats a cozy place to rest and feel safe.

But they didn’t stop there! They also gave Shelly a beautiful makeover with some adorable “flower power,” making her look just as loved as she truly is. 🌸

Before they left, they gathered together and prayed over our rescue, our volunteers, and the work we do. It was such a touching and humbling moment. Their kindness, generosity, and faith filled our hearts more than words can express.

To these incredible ladies, thank you. Your handmade gifts will comfort our animals, and your prayers will continue to encourage us as we carry out this mission. We are so grateful for each of you.

It truly takes a community to save lives, and today we were reminded that sometimes the greatest gifts are made with loving hands and faithful hearts. 🐾❤️

On the ride home, this sweet girl made herself completely comfortable by sitting right on top of all the kitty litter that was donated. I think it’s safe to say she approves! 😹

We want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who answered our call for litter donations. Every bag you donated helps us provide clean, healthy spaces for the cats and kittens in our care. Your generosity truly makes a difference.

Our dream? To one day fill an entire trailer with kitty litter! Imagine how many more cats and kittens we could rescue, rehabilitate, and place into loving homes if we never had to worry about running out of one of our biggest daily necessities.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us save lives—one bag of litter, one spay, and one happy kitty at a time. We couldn’t do this without our amazing community. ❤️🐾

We would like to sincerely thank the Chamber for welcoming our organization. We look forward to building relationships with other local businesses and organizations as we continue serving the people and animals of our community. Hopefully this memberships will allow for that.

As many of you know, for the past year and a half we have worked tirelessly to serve Whitney and the surrounding areas through rescue, low-cost resources, monthly public education Lake Whitney Public Library, advocacy, community programs, and volunteer service. While we are thankful for this recognition from the Chamber, we continue to hope that one day our own city will also acknowledge the work our volunteers and supporters have dedicated to improving animal welfare in this community.

Regardless of recognition, our mission remains the same. We will continue showing up, serving our neighbors, advocating for animals, and working toward positive solutions for Whitney.

Thank you to everyone who has stood beside us and believed in our mission. This is another step forward, and we’re excited for what the future holds.

👟🐾 SHOE DRIVE UPDATE! 🐾👟

As of today, we’ve collected 375 pairs of shoes! 🎉

Our goal is 1,700 pairs, so we’re not even close to our mark yet, but we’re not giving up!

Our Shoe Drive runs through August 16, and every pair donated helps raise funds to support the lifesaving work of Paws Place Rescue Inc. If we don’t reach our goal by then, we’ll possibly request an extension so we can continue collecting and give this fundraiser our best effort.

If you’ve been meaning to clean out your closets, now is the perfect time! We accept new and gently used shoes of all kinds.

🚐🐾The FREE Chip & Snip mobile clinic is hitting the road!

We're bringing free spay/neuter services for cats and dogs plus free microchipping directly to Fort Worth neighborhoods. 🐶🐱

The Chip & Snip program is part of Fort Worth Animal Care & Control's effort to encourage responsible pet ownership and expand access to critical pet services.

Spaying and neutering provides key health benefits. Pets that are fixed are less likely to develop certain cancers and are less likely to roam, fight, mark territory or show aggressive behavior.
