Roadside Wichita

Earlier today, the McPherson Fire Department responded to a wreck on I-135. The incident involved a passenger vehicle striking the rear end of a KDOT truck, that was positioned to direct traffic around a crew performing maintenance on the highway. We would like to remind everyone that Kansas has a "Move Over" law in place to help protect highway workers, first responders, and tow truck operators.

If you see flashing lights on the side of a roadway, please move over if you can do so safely, otherwise slow down and proceed with caution. Stay safe everyone!
