That’s a wrap on the very first summer of Heather’s Camp Teenies! ☀️
Across two weeklong sessions this summer, our youngest campers (ages 5-9) spent their days playing, discovering, and making friendships that will last a lifetime. Designed as a bridge program to Heather’s Camp, our main overnight camp, Heather’s Camp Teenies helps children who are blind or have low vision build essential skills and confidence for that next big step. And year one proved just how much fun the journey can be.

Honored to welcome Council Member Joseph W. Shepard to Level Up at Wichita State University this week. Councilman Shepard joined our week-long programming and delivered morning affirmations that set the tone for our students each day, empowering them to step into every challenge with confidence. Thank you, Councilman Shepard, for standing with our students and championing our mission.
Your support makes a lasting impact.

It’s official. The "Envision Your City" mural is unveiled in Wichita, Kansas.

Now featured on the south wall of the Envision Arts Center in Wichita’s Delano District, this new community landmark stands as more than public art. It is a declaration that art belongs to everyone, regardless of ability.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us today to mark this milestone, and to the partners who made it possible: AbilityPoint, Starkey, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Alzheimer's Association, Hutton, and local businesses, and the many community members who lent their voices to this project. Moments like these remind us what a community can build together.

When access expands, opportunity grows, and Kimberly Bunch’s story shows the impact that can follow.

Born totally blind and later regaining some vision as a child, Kimberly grew up learning to navigate the world in her own way. At 12, she attended the Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, where she began mentoring and supporting younger students.

Today, that same heart for service shows up at Envision. Kimberly is part of the sewing team in Dallas and also helps coworkers safely connect with their Uber or DART transportation after work.

Her dedication recently earned national recognition through National Industries for the Blind, but Kimberly’s story is about more than an award. It’s about purpose, community and the power of opportunity.
