Rohloff Construction fully restored the L.W. Clapp Mansion in 2006. We look forward to working on this historical Wichita treasure again in a few weeks. Our project includes exterior paint, woodwork restoration and other repairs/updates. Take a look at this magnificent one-of-a-kind home!
This home was fully restored in 2006 by Rohloff Construction. Built in 1887 by Lewis W. Clapp, businessman, civic leader, one time Wichita mayor, and developer of the City's park system. It was the first structure constructed in the area that became later known as "Clapp Compound." Designed in the Queen Anne style by architects Terry and Hayward, the three-story home features varied surfaces and multiple porches, Doric porch columns, a slate roof, boxed eaves, dentilled cornice trim and cornice brackets.
