Clutter to Peace

This morning I woke up, read my Word vaguely, prayed quickly, and then jumped into my to-do list—cleaning, planning errands, handling business as usual. But in the middle of my busyness, I heard a gentle whisper: “Read your Bible.”

So I picked up my Bible, my notebook, and my pen. I sat on my bed and began to set the tone for my four-week Bible plan (I can share it if you’d like—just let me know in the comments below).

As I sat there, conviction filled my heart. I began repenting for not truly acknowledging God this morning. And then the Holy Spirit spoke so clearly:

“Imagine if you woke up and were excited to see your husband, children, or family, eager to share your dreams or just talk with them. But instead, they left and went about their day without even acknowledging you.”

That pierced me. Because I realized that’s how I treat God at times. I would feel hurt, angry, even call the other person rude if it happened to me. Yet how often do I do the same to my Father in heaven?

The Spirit continued: “And what if God dealt with you the way you sometimes deal with people—yelling, angry, unreasonable?”

I answered honestly: I would feel hurt, unworthy, unloved. But thank God—He is not like us. 🙌🏽 He is jealous for our time, yes, but He is also forgiving, gracious, and full of unconditional love.

So today I was reminded: God doesn’t just want us to see Him as Jehovah Jireh (our provider) or Jehovah Rapha (our healer). He is also a God of relationship. He enjoys being with us. He loves when we acknowledge Him first.

💭 Take a moment today:
• Talk with your Father.
• Cover your family in prayer.
• Cover the world.
• Give Him praise.
• Thank Him.
• Worship Him.

Because He loves you. He longs to hear from you. And He never treats us as our sins deserve. 💜
