Clark's Women In STEM
To explore women’s growing role in the STEM field, to learn how to navigate potential challenges that women may face, and to inspire the younger generation

As Clark University celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we want to bring awareness to racial underrepresentation in the sciences. Statistics show a clear underrepresentation of people of color in the STEM fields. From 1973 to 2012, 22,000 physics PhDs were awarded to white males in the US. During that same period of time, 2,400 were awarded to white women, 106 to Latina women and 66 to black women. Having more than one underrepresented identity has a great impact on higher education in the sciences. We hope and work to make STEM and academia a more inclusive environment for everyone. *original article from www.qz.com
