On this Mother’s Day, I want to recognize all the wonderful mothers and mother figures in the U.S. Virgin Islands for their daily commitment and unrelenting love, support, and guidance especially to my mother, Carmen Barreiros.

Mothers are a guiding light in our lives and are the bedrock of the Virgin Islands families. I encourage all to join me in sharing our love and gratitude to those mothers and mother figures for everything they have done and continue to do. Happy Mother’s Day.

Spent a few hours yesterday afternoon with the 6th - 8th grade cheerleaders of Pearl B. Larsen PreK8 School. Topic of discussion was healthy eating and the significance of eating a good breakfast,every morning before school.
