Superelevation is the banking or tilting of a road or railway track to help vehicles or trains maintain stability when moving around curves. By raising the outer edge of the curve higher than the inner edge, superelevation helps counteract the centrifugal force that pushes a vehicle outward during a turn, improving safety and comfort.
