एकसाता अघि निःशुल्क स्वास्थ्य शिविरमा जाँदा दुर्गम भेग तिर गएर १,२ ठाउँ बाँस बसेर आए । एकजना आमाले त मेरै अघि आएर आँसु खसाल्नुभयो । म एकछिन त वैराग्य भएर भावनात्मक भए । होश गुमाए र अचेत जस्तै भएर आँसु पुछ्न अनुरोध गरे । म सँग ति आमाको आँसु रोक्ने कुनै औषधि थिएन । केवल उनका शरीरका रोगहरु मात्र निको पार्न सक्थे । बेसाहारा आमा भन्दै थिइन "घरमा कोही छैन, एक्लै बस्छु । सरकारले दिएको भत्ताले जे जे आउँछ त्यही नै खान्छु ।" मैले एकैछिन आफैसँग प्रश्न पनि गरे । जाबो अभाव र गरिबीको रोग निमिट्यान्न पार्न नसक्ने म कसरी डाक्टर भए ? ठुलो ग्लानीले छपक्कै छोप्यो । म त ठुलै केही गरौंला भन्ने राग लिएर यता आएको हुँ । सुगमता छोडेर गाउँगाउँ रोजेको हु तर मेरो हातमा त केही रहेनछ । अरु त अरु मैले आमाको आँसु समेत रोक्न सक्ने रहेनछु । ती आमालाई जतिसक्दो त्यति औषधिको सहयोग गरेर पठाए । हाँस्दै उठ्नुभयो अनि आशिष सहित कोसेली आफ्नै बारीको केरा दिएर जानुभयो । मलाई बिलकुल थाहा छैन त्यो आशिष को मुल्य कति छ ? एमडी पढ्दा त्यस्ले न पोइन्ट आउँछ, न काठमाडौंमा घर बन्छ, न भविष्य निर्धारण गर्छ तर मलाई त बुद्धत्व प्राप्त गरेजस्तै भयो । त्यसदिन देखि हरेक चैतन्यमा तिनै आमाको प्रतिबिम्ब भेट्दै गएँ र निस्सार जिन्दगीमा सहृदयताको सार भेट्दै गए ।
