Anthropic Accidentally Leaks Claude Code Files in Second Incident This Week
Anthropic has accidentally exposed nearly 2,000 internal source code files and over 500,000 lines of code while releasing an update to its AI tool, Claude Code.
The issue was caused by a packaging error (human mistake) and was quickly identified by security researcher Chaofan Shou.
Although the AI model itself was not leaked, the exposed data revealed the system’s internal architecture, which could help competitors like OpenAI understand and improve their own tools.
This marks the second accidental data exposure by Anthropic in just one week, raising concerns about internal security and quality control.
