As the concept of biological age becomes more popular, it introduces new ethical questions around discrimination.

This article considers whether biological age could reduce some forms of age-based bias, such as when older patients are unfairly judged as less likely to benefit from treatment. It also warns that using biological age could create new ethical risks, including discrimination based on biological age, health insurance consequences, and unfair social classification.
