Who can relate? 🙋🏾‍♀️🙋🏽       You pick up your child from school eager to hear how their day went. You excitedly ask, “How was school today!?”        And in response…         “I don’t know.”  “I forgot.”     “Ok...”         Sounds familiar right?        Your child just ended a long day full of effort and they may be overwhelmed by your question (How was school today?) which is TOO BIG and TOO GENERAL. It’s hard for them to articulate the full experience of their day in such general terms.        ✅ So instead, let your child decompress for a few minutes and then ask much more SPECIFIC questions:        ➡️ During snack time who did you sit next to?   ➡️ What book did you read today?     ➡️ Anyone get upset today in class?     ➡️ Did anything make you laugh today?     ➡️ Who’s the funniest person in your class?      ➡️ Any of your friends ask for help today?  ➡️ Any new words you heard today?     ➡️ Did you ask anyone to play with you today?    ➡️ What do you think you should learn about in school?         I’m not saying to bombard your child with all these questions :)  Pick a couple and see how it goes.        This is good for ALL AGES :)         Follow me @dr.siggie for more practical parenting tips    Free parenting toolbox 🧰 Link in bio 15/10/2022
