Jacob Lyons Bio, Mercer County Extension Intern

A Boyle County native, Jacob Lyons is serving as a Summer Intern for the Mercer County Cooperative Extension Service. Jake is a rising Junior at the University of Kentucky pursuing a degree in Agricultural Education with minors in Agriculture Economics and Animal Science. At the university, Jake is a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and works in the Office of Student Success as a Student Program Coordinator. This summer, he looks forward to working to meet the needs of the esteemed community of Harrodsburg and Mercer County in its entirety. Extension interns are required to complete a summer project during their time at our office — Jacob is excited to be developing a two-day community camp for children in the area to learn about horticulture, homemaking, and of course, having fun! Upon graduation from the University of Kentucky with his Bachelor of Science in Career and Technical Education, Jacob plans to return to pursue a Master of Science in Higher Education with a focus in educational policy.
